These figures are the result of direct scissor-cut folded paper, i.e not drawn first. The '8000 People Ceiling Prayer' are characters from history, myth and popular culture in silhouette form. Eight thousand souls in cut paper were suspended in the ceiling  space of Pataka Gallery as a tribute to human diversity. A few have been opened out and screen-printed.
