Nikau. The southernmost palm tree

As you may have noticed, I think the nikau is spectacular. It is the southernmost palm tree, intensely colourful.

I'm embarking on a new journey with my art and leave you with these photos and perhaps inspire you to visit a nikau forest near you.

These trees are in Hutt Valley, Wellington. Spot the Kereru !

Yep, there are varieties of palm trees. And this by far is the coolest one. The purple like coloration is beautiful. Some people cut their palm trees but I think it is best to just remove them, not kill. Removing can be replanted.
